Rev. Daniel L. Arter
Pastor Daniel and his wife Natalie moved to Philipsburg, Pennsylvania in 2020 with the intent of starting a Bible-believing and Bible teaching church that would reach the Moshannon Valley area. They had noticed a lack of biblical teaching and understanding in rural areas and through God's prompting and leading they determined to plant Grace & Peace. Daniel has a heart for intentional discipleship and expositional preaching, which informs the methodology behind his preaching and teaching style.
Prior to planting Grace & Peace, Daniel served as an assistant pastor and interim pastor at two churches in South Carolina; and he served as a youth leader and deacon at a church in Central Pennsylvania. Daniel is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He holds a BS in Ministry and Leadership, an MA in Biblical Studies from Bob Jones University; and is currently pursuing an DMin in Apologetics from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Administrative Assistant / Biblical Counselor
Natalie heads up all our counseling programs at Grace & Peace in conjunction with her husband, Daniel. She has a heart for people to understand the effectiveness of the Bible in their lives. While she does not counsel every person, she does organize and schedule counseling sessions--men with Pastor Daniel, women with herself, and couples with her and her husband. Please feel free to reach out to her if you are in need of counseling. Natalie also handles many of our administrative needs including upkeep of Planning Center and social media, scheduling meetings, and scheduling volunteers for ministry.
Prior to helping her husband plant Grace & Peace, she served as a small group leader for college-aged women, worship team member, and children's ministry worker. She holds a BA in General Studies from North Greenville University and is currently pursuing an MA in Biblical Counseling from Bob Jones University.
Deane joined Grace & Peace in early 2021 due to a desire to find solid expositional, Bible preaching and teaching to teach and nourish his soul. Deane is a deacon in the truest sense of the word--he serves the church with purity of heart and he has been serving the universal church (as well as our local church) long before he had ever become a deacon. He has a strong desire to follow the LORD, which is evident in his willingness to volunteer in all aspects of our ministry, but especially in areas of congregational care, facilities care and maintenance, and other people-oriented ministries. Contact him for congregational care/benevolence, facilities concerns, or visitation requests.
Prior to serving at Grace & Peace, Deane had served for several years in a role similar to a Deacon, but with a different title and more of a focus on facilities concerns. He served in the United States Coast Guard and he holds a BS in Elementary Education with minors in Art and Psychology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania; he hopes to pursue training in biblical counseling at a later date.
